Applying to Mary

You should apply as an international student if you:

  • Are not a U.S. citizen.
  • Are not a legal permanent resident or refugee.
  • Are a dual citizen who completed your secondary education abroad.

How to Apply

  1. Complete and submit your online application for admission. 
  2. Have your transcript(s) evaluated.
  3. Submit your English language proficiency scores.

Transcript Evaluation Process

If you completed your secondary education outside of the United States, you must submit proof of a course-by-course transcript evaluation. 

  • Arrange for your transcript evaluation with one of the following third-party agencies:
    • Span Tran
    • World Education Services (WES)
    • Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
    • Any agency belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES
  • Once your chosen agency has completed your evaluation, have your official assessment sent directly to us at enroll@ebasd.com
  • We require only your official evaluation — no need to submit your official international transcript.

Minimum English Language Proficiency Scores

Non-native English speakers can meet our English language proficiency requirement by submitting one of the minimum TOEFL, IELTS, GTECT, or Duolingo scores listed below.* Please send your scores to enroll@ebasd.com for verification.

 TOEFL Website (school code: 6428);

  • Undergraduate
    • IBT (Internet Based TOEFL) – minimum 71
    • PBT (Paper Based TOEFL) – minimum 500
  • Graduate
    • IBT (Internet Based TOEFL) – minimum 80
    • PBT (Paper Based TOEFL) – minimum 550

IELTS Website

  • Undergraduate — minimum score of 6.0
  • Graduate — minimum score of 6.5

GTEC Website

  • Undergraduate — minimum score of 1140-1165
  • Graduate — minimum score of 1204-1226

DET Website

  • Undergraduate – minimum score of 95
  • Graduate – minimum score of 105

*These scores represent a set of minimum standards for general admission to the University of Mary. Certain programs of study may require proof of a higher degree of English competency.
